Image
Dear students, your date of final examination is approaching nearer and today CBSE has declared its time sheet for Class - X and Class - XII final examinations. This particular time is very crucial yet very challenging as you try to maximize your utilisation of time for study. So, today let us discuss how we can stay focused for longer time to get maximum benefits out of our study time. I shall start with a very surprising statistics - our brain can focus on a particular thing for a 15 seconds only. Then how do we focus for longer hours? The answer is when we study we focus on our content, previous knowledge and simultaneously build an image of the subject in a continuous process. When we learn a particular thing we obviously build images of our learning in our mind. The more we focus, the more clear and vivid images are created in our mind. And memorization is nothing but the duration of images stay in our mind. Keeping this in mind go ahead reading the next part of the article....

December 11 - UNICEF Day

Image
"History will judge us by difference we make in the everyday life of children" - Nelson Mandela Dear students, Today, the 11th Day of December is the UNICEF day. On this day, in the year 1946 UNICEF was established. Did you know the full form of UNICEF? The full form of UNICEF is United Nations Children's Fund. When it was established, the full form was United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund; but In 1953, the organisation became a permanent agency of the United Nations. While “International” and “Emergency” were dropped from the official name, the acronym remained the same.  Its primary purpose is to provide humanitarian aid to children around the globe. It helps people whose lives and futures were at risk. While the fund was originally meant to be a relief fund to help children after World War II, it later became a permanent organisation in 1953. It did not matter what role they played during the war. Its focus was to provide supplies, and assistance an...

Amazing Hippo

Image
Dear students, we must have heard about hippopotamus and some of us are luckier to see it in zoos. But how many of us know about the amazing animal ? Let us know some of the amazing facts about them...   The Hippopotamus or hippo is found only in Africa. They are the third largest mammal on earth. It is smaller than the rhino but still huge. - an adult hippo weighs around three and a half tones. It is an even-toed ungulate, which means that it has four toes on each foot, each  toe ending in a hoof like nail.  Hippopotamus love water, which is why the Greeks named them the " river horse". Hippos spend up to 16 hours a day submerged in water. This keeps their massive bodies cool. Hippos are good swimmers, and can hold their breath underwater for up to five minutes. They are often large enough to simply walk and stand on the lake floor.  Their eyes and nostrils are located high on their head, which allows them to see and breath while their bodies remain underwater. Hipp...

It does not have any specific specific set of rules; yet most of us go through the stages of parenting. As a parent we give our children a good start in life - we nurture, protect, and guide them. Parenting is a process that prepares our child for independence. As our child grows and develops, there are many things we can do to help our child. And here the importance of positive parenting comes in place.  When we talk about positive parenting technique then an obvious question automatically comes to our mind.... What is it all about? This parenting technique focuses on nurturing good behaviour, creating mutual trust between children and parents instead of punishing, scolding and giving negative comments to our children.
